  • Page 6 AN-S2 MOVING COIL STEP UP TRANSFORMER The AN-S2 is a passive device, designed to convert the mainly current output of your Moving Coil cartridge (MC) to a higher voltage, low current signal of sufficient strength to allow a Moving Magnet (MM) phonostage to amplify it to a suitable level.
  • Page 7 ‘hum’, however this is not always guaranteed, so some experimentation is advised to ascertain the best arrangement. Once all connections have been made, adjust the impedance switches on the rear of the AN-S2 to the appropriate setting for your cartridge. You are now ready to enjoy some music!
