ALIGNM ENT OF TRANSMITTER
D RIVER AND RECEIVER F RONT END STAGE
( 1 ) Connect a dummy load/wattme ter to the
rear p anel ANT j ack.
( 2) Set the RF/ AF gain controls fully clockwise ,
s e t the MOD E switch to F SK , and set TC 2 s o 6
t o the 1 /3 c apacitance setting, as shown in
Fig. l .
( 3 ) Set the B AND switch to l OD , se t the m ain
tuning dial for a reading of 3 0 .000 MHz, and
set the PRE S E LECT control t o the u p p er end
of the 1 0 m eter band ( fully clockwise) . Set
the LOAD c ontrol to 3 , and dip the P LATE
CONT ROL while tuning.
( 4) Set the CARR control to the 1 2 o 'clock
p o sition. Set the VOX GAIN c ontrol to MOX
( for not m o re th an 1 0 se conds) , an d carefully

the m e t er. Be sure that the bonding agent has
b een remov e d before you adjust the c ores.
( 5) While r eceiving, set the MARK E R switch O N ,
a n d tune to t h e c alibrator signal. Adjust T i
for m aximum S-m eter d e flection.
(6) Now set the B AND switch to l OA, set the
VFO for a display frequency o f 2 8 .000 MHz ,
a n d peak the PRESELECT control for m axi­
mum PO while tuning.

Set the B AND switch to 1 5 , set th e m ain

scale . Dip the P LATE control for minimum

GAI N control to MOX, and adjust TC2 6 o s

the me ter. On receive , tune in the MARK E R
signal, an d adjust T C 2 4 o s for maximum S ­
m e ter deflection.
( 1 2) Set the B AND switch to 20, set the VFO for
a frequncy o f 1 4. 000 MHz, and set th e P RE­
SELECT c ontrol to 7 . 2 on its scal e . Dip the
P LATE con trol for m inimum IC indication
while tuning . Set the VOX GAIN c ontrol to
MOX, and adjust TC 2 6 04 for m aximum PO
in dication on the m e ter. On receiv e , tune in
the MARKER signal, and adjust T C 2 4 0 4 for
m aximum S-m e ter deflection.
