SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MITRE SAWS a) Mitre saws are intended to cut wood or wood-like products, they cannot be used with abrasive cut-o wheels for cutting ferrous material such as bars, rods, studs, etc. Abrasive dust causes moving parts such as the lower guard to jam. Sparks from abrasive cutting will burn the lower guard, the kerf insert and other plastic parts.

6. INTENDED USE This mitre saw is intended for cutting wood and analogue materials, it is suitable for straight and curved cuts having Mitre angles of up to 45°. The saw is not designed for cutting rewood. Do not use machines, tools and accessories for additional applications (see manufacturer’s instructions) for works other than those for which they are designed for.

8. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Important: Be sure the supply is the same as the voltage given on the rating plate. Remove the mains plug before carrying out any adjustment or servicing. ASSEMBLY Warning: To prevent the accidental starting that could cause possible serouspersonal injury, ALWAYS assemble all parts to you saw BEFORE connecting it to thepower supply.
Page 105 4. WORKPIECE CLAMP When cutting workpiece, the boards should always be clamped with a “G” clamp (provided). OPERATION RELEASE KNOB When boxed or during storage, transportation, the saw head is locked in the down position. To release the head ready for operation, press the switch lock (17) to left. Apply downward pressure on the saw arm and pull out the release knob (2).
Page 106 SETTING THE TABLE SQUARE WITH THE BLADE 1. Make sure that the electrical plug is removed from the power point. 2.Push the saw arm (1) down to its lowest position and engage the release knob (2) to hold the saw arm in the transport position. 3.
Page 107 7. Place a square against the fence (11) and alongside the blade. 8. Adjust the fence (11) until it is square with the blade. 9. Tighten the screws securing the fence (11). 10. Loosen the Phillips head screw holding the pointer of the mitre scale (13) and adjust it so that it accurately indicates the zero position on the mitre scale.
Page 108 DANGER Never try to use a blade larger than the stated capacity of the saw. It might come into contact with the blade guards. Never use a blade that is too thick to allow the outer blade washer to engage with the ats on the spindle.
Page 109 A bevel cut is made by cutting across the grain of the workpiece with the blade angled to the fence and mitre table. The mitre table is set at the zero degree position and the blade set at an angle between 0º and 45º. 1.
Page 110 7. When cutting long pieces of timber, support the opposite end of the timber with the side support bars, a roller stand or a work surface that is level with the saw table. 8. Before turning on the saw, perform a dry run of the cutting operation to check that there are no problems such as a clamp interfering with the cutting action.
