1. INTRODUCTION

The UMX-MC6 card is used as a speaker line switching module. It is also used in installations with backup amplifiers, switching the
speaker lines to the backup amplifier when zone amplifier failure is detected.
It has two input channels (channels I and II) and 6 zone outputs. Channel I is used for connecting a music/backup amplifier and
channel II for connecting a paging amplifier. In standby, the output zones are connected to channel I and switch to channel II when
any element in the system selects that zone (for example from a microphone desk).
Each output incorporates four contacts that allow connecting external volume control devices with or without surety paging, in the
AV series (3 lines) as well as the CV series (4 lines).
It occupies one slot, and may be inserted in slots 3 to 10 of the COMPACT audio matrix or in any of the COMPACT-E slave matrix
slots.
Depending on the type of installation required and as configured through the public address system software, the UMX-MC6 card
has different modes of operation:
a) INSTALACIONES WITHOUT SURVEILLANCE
The amplifier connected to CHANNEL I is used as a
MUSIC amplifier
And the amplifier connected to CHANNEL II as the
PAGING amplifier.
Music is sent through CHANNEL I to all zones.
When a message is sent to a zone, the music stops
in that zone and the message sounds In the rest of
the zones, the music program continues to play.
