Introduction
Thank you for choosing to purchase this quality product. To minimise the risk of injury, we ask you to
always take some basic safety precautions when using this product. Please read this operating manual
carefully and make sure that you understand it.
Keep these operation instructions in a safe place.
Safety instructions
The hand wire winch is only suitable for pulling loads or for similar jobs (e.g., for tensioning
cables). The maximum capacity must not be exceeded.
No extension must be used to move the tensioning lever. The hand wire winch is not suitable
for lifting or lowering loads! Only use the hand wire winch to pull and transfer a load.
This user's manual must be kept at the very location of the hand wire winch; it must be read and
respected by everyone who operates, cleans, or maintains the hand wire winch. Any use differ-
ing from the one described above is not permitted and leads to damages to the device and
dangers for the user.
The warranty will expire if damages occur that are caused by any non-compliance with the
user's manual. We cannot be held responsible for any consequential damages! Nor can we be
held responsible for any damages or injuries caused by any improper use of the device or any
non-compliance with the safety instructions.
Any unauthorised modification of and/or change to the device is not permitted.
Keep the device away from children.
Do not work with a torn or damaged load cable.
Do not use any lever extension (to increase the lever action).
Never apply the lever with other objects or machines.
Never loop the rope around the load, but only fix the load using the hooks.
Never unwind the cable completely from the drum. A minimum of 3 cable turns must remain on
the drum.
The device must not be used to lift loads or persons; it may only be used to pull loads.
Nor is the device suitable for pulling vehicles, objects, etc., with persons inside.
Both anchorage points (the one for the load to be pulled and the one to absorb the tensile load)
must be chosen accordingly. In case the anchorage points are not suitable, serious damages
might be caused.
Avoid diagonal pulls and return of the cable. Protect the cable from sharp edges. Never knot
the cable.
The cable must not be shortened nor lengthened.
Never remove the safety bow from the hooks.
When operating the hand wire winch, make sure that nobody is staying within the danger zone.
Furthermore, make sure that the user of the hand wire winch can neither be endangered by the
device itself nor by the load or means of suspension (the point absorbing the tensile load).
The device must not be left unattended over a longer period in towing/tensioned state of oper-
ation. Never use the device as earth line during welding jobs.
No welding or repair work may be made to the casing, cable, or hook. Check the cable before
each use to find any damaged, kinked, broken, or torn parts of the cable.
In case the device is damaged, it must not be re-used! Have an authorised service centre repair
it or dispose of it in an environmental-friendly manner.
When using the hand wire winch, observe the safety and accident prevention regulations appli-
cable in your country. Always wear appropriate protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, gloves,
etc.).
Trained personnel must monitor the use of the device in schools, training institutions, hobby,
and self-help workshops.
Protect the device against rain, dust, and dirt. Never drop it from large heights, as this will dam-
age and disable it.
Should you have doubts concerning the proper use of the device or should questions arise that
are not answered by the user's manual, contact a qualified person.
