EasyOpener Plus
Instructions for use
Your Stoma, wound nurse or physician has advised you to start wearing a stoma belt. For optimal care,
the user should read these instructions carefully before applying the belt. This product is a medical
device and is intended for use by one person only.

Intended use of the product

The EasyOpener Plus belt is mainly used postoperatively to support the abdominal wall and prevent
the formation of hernia and prolapse, for example during physical activities where pressure on the
abdominal wall is higher (sports, gardening, lifting, vacuuming, etc.). The EasyOpener Plus belt offers
the wearer a high level of wearing comfort, a safe and secure feeling in daily life.

The packaging contains the following parts:
Stomacare EasyOpener Plus Ostomy Belt
Applying belt
To wear the EasyOpener Plus belt correctly, you should preferably apply the belt while lying down. In
case of a fracture, in many cases it will sink back into the abdomen and the belt provides counter
pressure. This way the fracture is optimally supported. The belt is closed in such a way that you can still
slide your hand in between. The belt is then sufficiently tight to provide support but still wears
comfortably.
Fig. 1
The circumference of the abdomen must be
measured to select the correct size. Use the size
chart to determine which size is the best fit.
Fig. 2
Attach the ostomy bag against the abdominal
wall and check that it is comfortable and properly
adhered. Place the ostomy belt on the bed (or
put it on loosely) and lie down on top of it.
Fig. 3
Fold the tip of the stoma pouch into a point and
guide it from the inside of the belt out through
the stoma aperture, with flange remaining at
inside of the belt.
Fig. 4
Make sure the stoma pouch is nice flat and without
folds. Next, pull the front Velcro closure over the
abdomen and close it at the desired tension. Check
whether it's still possible to insert a hand between
the belt and your abdomen. If necessary, adjust
the tension. After completion you can stand up.

Now place the end of the prolapse cover with it's
Velcro on the velour plate. Stretch the prolapse
cover to the desired tension over the pouch and
secure the Velcro fastener.
Fig. 6 (optional)
If chosen, first position the Protector (accessory
that protects you from unwanted pressure on the
stoma, e.g. due to seat belt) over the stoma
pouch and press it tightly with the Velcro onto
the belt. Then reattach the prolapse cover as
described.
Fig. 7 (optional)
You can also choose to apply a BellyBag (an
accessory that helps to 'carry' the pouch,
providing extra comfort and support) to the
velour panel. Then reattach the prolapse cover
as described.
