RECORDING USING AN EXTERNAL TIMER
INPUT
Recording can be controlled by an external start/stop
signal input at the EXT TIMER IN terminal.
Example 3:
To record using the signal input at the
EXT TIMER IN terminal, in 24-hour
mode.
X Follow the Before starting steps, under "NORMAL
RECORDING".
NOTE:
X External timer input recording can only be set on the
9th line (EXT) of the (TIMER SET) menu.

Press the MENU button until the (TIMER SET) menu
is displayed.

Press the * (or +) button, until the "SPD" (recording
speed) position of the "EXT" line starts flashing.

Press the l (or j) button to select the recording
speed mode (ex: 24), then press the * button.
ø "N" will start flashing.

Press the l (or j) button to select "Y".

ø When an external signal is input, "E" will light on
the digital display and recording will take place.
NOTES:
X Other timer recordings using the standard procedure
can also be programmed.
X The external input signal must be input at the EXT
TIMER IN terminal.
