    Applications The Atlas Copco CombiCutter hydraulic cutter is designed to be mounted on hydraulic carriers and is suitable for the following applications: Demolition of buildings such as tall concrete structures, industrial structures/buildings and bridges. After mounting, the hydraulic cutter is provided with all necessary power by the carrier and is operated by the carrier driver from the cab.

    8.1.3.Checking existing hydraulic facility for cutter operation Examination by Atlas Copco’s Customer Support or an authorised dealer will determine whether the hydraulic facility is suitable for cutter operation, regardless of whether a Atlas Copco or a non−Atlas Copco conversion kit has been used.

    8.2.2.Mounting the hydraulic cutter on the carrier Once the adapter has been attached, position the hydraulic cutter facing the carrier boom (stick) as shown in Figs 5 and 6. In this way the stick of the excavator boom can be moved into the adapter in such a way that the bores in the stick/adapter are aligned.

    9.2. Start−up After mounting as described in Section 9, the hydraulic cutter is ready for use. However, before the hydraulic cutter is started up, the following safety precautions must be observed: Caution! Stop the hydraulic cutter immediately if anyone moves into the danger zone, i. e. a radius of at least 7 metres around the hydraulic cutter.

    9.4. Limitations when cutting steel Warning! The hydraulic cutter is not suitable for cutting steel sheets and plates. By the same token the hydraulic cutter must not be used to cut through tanks (oil tanks). All steel sections of tensile strength < 370 N/mm2 can be cut using the hydraulic cutter. Cutting higher steel grades e.

    Care and maintenance of the hydraulic cutter 10.1. General information In order to obtain the best performance from the hydraulic cutter, maintenance work should be carried out by the operator at the prescribed intervals. Caution! Observe all relevant safety regulations when performing maintenance work. When removing the hydraulic cutter, the hydraulic system must first be depressurized! Procedure as follows: H switch off engine but leave ignition switched on...

    The blade can only be reversed if the contact face is undamaged (see Fig. 25). When fitting new blades, always use new fastening screws. Use only genuine Atlas Copco fastening screws. Missing blades must be replaced immediately. Working without blades Warning! causes serious damage to the blade seat on the cutter jaw.

    10.5. Replacing the cutter teeth Worn teeth must be replaced in good time. In many cases, the damaged retainer bolt can only be unscrewed by mechanically damaging the nut or the bolt. Missing teeth must be replaced immediately. Working without teeth causes Warning! serious damage to the tooth support and the cutter jaw.

    10.6. Welding instructions for cutter jaws and teeth When the armouring in the lower cutter jaw area becomes worn, it can be renewed (hard facing) by a qualified welding specialist. When renewing the armouring, it must be ensured that there is still a buffer layer on the base metal.

    Recommended lubricant: Atlas Copco cutter grease (part ident. no. 3362 2635 19 − supplied in 500 g cartridges). For the lubrication points on the 4−point bearing KP2K greases must be used, i.e. lithium base saponified mineral oils, NLGI class 2 with EP additives.

    Dismounting the hydraulic cutter 12.1. Shutdown Before dismounting the hydraulic cutter and/or any maintenance work on the hydraulics of the hydaulic cutter the hydraulic system must be depressurized. (see section 10) The cutter is dismounted from the carrier in reverse order to mounting. Deposit the cutter on squared beams or pallets away from other transport routes.
