    WNL-U550 is up to 300Mbps which almost three times of standard G. Featuring smart antenna technology, the Pre-N design helps combat distortion and interference so the Network Card can send its date streams greater distances, more reliably. The WNL-U550 supports both 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA/WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access) for securing wireless network connections.

    PLANET WNL-U550 3.3 Profile Manager This screen is accessed by clicking the Profile Manager tab on the main screen. Profile Name Enter or select a suitable name for this profile. Each profile must have a unique name. Network Name (SSID) If the desired wireless network is currently available, you can select its SSID.

TKIP – TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) changes the temporal key every 10,000 packets (a packet is a kind of message transmitted over a network.) This insures much greater security than the standard WEP security.
