Safety warnings

General tool safety warnings
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "tool" in all of the warnings listed below refers to your mains operated (corded) tool or battery
operated (cordless) tool. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result
in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Using your tool
Always take care when using the tool.
1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
2. Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
3. Do not immerse the tool in water.
4. Only use the tool in daylight or good artificial light.
5. Do not operate your tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
6. The tool is not to be used as a toy.
7. Do not open body casing. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
8. Disconnect the battery from the tool when not in use, before fitting or removing parts and before cleaning.
WARNING: Only use the battery cartridges and chargers recommended by the manufacturer. Use of any other battery cartridges and chargers may cause injury
and/or fire.
Tool use and care
1. Before use, check the tool for damaged or defective parts. Check for breakage of parts, damage to switches and any other conditions that may affect its
operation.
2. Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
3. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery cartridge from the tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing tools.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.
4. Do not use the tool if any part is damaged or defective.
5. Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or replaced by an authorised repair agent.
6. Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than those specified in this manual.
After Use
1. Switch off and remove the battery before leaving the tool unattended and before changing, cleaning or inspecting any parts of the tool.
2. When not in use, the tool should be stored in a dry, well ventilated place out of the reach of children.
3. Children should not have access to stored tools.
Battery tool use and care
1. Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery cartridge may create a risk of fire when used
with another battery cartridge.
2. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery cartridges. Use of any other battery cartridges may create a risk of injury and fire.
3. When battery cartridge is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can
make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,addi-
tionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
Service
1. Have your tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
2. Follow instruction for lubricating and changing accessories.
Additional safety warnings for glue guns
The intended use is described in this manual. The use of any accessory or attachment or performance of any operation with this tool other than those recom-
mended in this instruction manual can present a risk of personal injury and/ or damage to property. A fire may result if the tool is not used with care, therefore:
1. Be careful when using the tool in places where there are combustible materials.
2. Do not apply to the same place for a long time.
3. Do not use in presence of an explosive atmosphere.
4. Be aware that heat may be conducted to combustible materials that are out of sight.
5. Allow the tool to cool down before storage.
6. Do not leave the tool unattended when it is switched on.
7. Do not touch the heated nozzle of the Glue Gun. The operating temperature of this tool is approximately 175°C.
8. Keep hands away from the heated attachment and work area. Heat may be conducted through the work piece. Use clamps or pliers to hold the work piece.
9. The heating element will begin to heat up as soon as the tool is switched on. To avoid injury or damage to property always assume that the tool is hot.
10. Protect the work surface and materials from heat damage. Heat may be conducted through the work piece. Use a heat resistant material to protect the
work surface.
11. Glue sticks are not intended for ingestion and should not come in contact with food, etc. If swallowed, seek medical attention. Keep out of the reach of
children.
12. Before cleaning. Remove the battery from the tool and allow it to cool.
13. Never attempt to force cool the tool after use by immersing any part of it in water or any other liquid. Allow the tool to air cool only.
14. Keep the tool away from all flammable material. Be aware that this product may ignite material. Where this is a concern, test a piece of scrap material.
15. Never leave the tool unattended. After use, remove the battery from the tool, allow it to cool and store in a safe place out of the reach of children.
16. Fumes resulting from heating materials for craft activities may be hazardous. Always work in a well ventilated area. Seek advice on the materials being used.
17. Never attempt to insert any material other than recommended glue sticks, sealer, or caulk sticks in the glue gun. For example: Do not attempt to melt
crayons or candles.
