My trimmer is a P20180. No English instructions were enclosed. I do not find this model's instruction book. please help

The "slot" in the spool is referenced. There are 4 slots in the spool. Does the line stay in one of these slots while it is running or is it supposed to be pulled out and go directly thru the eye on installation? The line on this machine either seems to get jammed up and won't advance or advances way to fast. Is this normal?
