As with all batteries, you should consider the mechanical and environmental conditions that you intend to operate the battery in to maximise overall performance and achieve the longest battery life. Baintech offer these general guidelines; however, you should seek Baintech advice or that of a qualified electrical tradesperson if you are in doubt.
Alternatively, use strapping and clamping to secure the battery in place. Maintain an acceptable temperature range Like all batteries, Baintech batteries operate and perform the best, as well as last the longest, in a cool and stable temperature environment of between 10 C and 25 C.
If you are unsure how to install the battery, seek advice from Baintech or a suitably qualified electrical tradesperson. Check to ensure the connecting Anderson plugs are correctly wired (positive and negative) and do not attempt to mismatch Anderson colours when connecting.
Extra capacity ensures lower DoD, extended life and a higher financial return on your investment. Baintech batteries have a cycle life of 5,000 at 50% and 2,000 at 80% DOD. 4.0 Battery Management System Your battery comes with an integrated Battery Management System (BMS).
Installation & User Guide TP Range 5.0 Installation It is recommended that the TradiePack battery is installed by a professional auto electrician. Stowage The TradiePack battery is likely to be stowed in a car, RV or 4WD or as a portable battery for camping. An important part of the battery installation is securely fixing it down or safely stowing it away during transport so that it does not become a projectile in an accident.
Installation & User Guide TP Range Mounting orientation The TradiePack battery can be mounted flat or on its side. Do not mount the battery on it side with the voltmeter upside-down. In this configuration, the internal cells are upside down which is against the manufacturer’s recommendations as shown in the figure below.
Installation & User Guide TP Range Connecting DC loads and chargers BTLITH-TP110 and BTLITH110-24 The BTLITH-TP110 and BTLITH-TP110-24 models are equipped with 2 convenient grey Anderson plug connectors, one accessible from the front and one on the back of the battery as shown in Figure 4 . Both can be used as input and outputs for charging and running loads up to 100A each.
Installation & User Guide TP Range BTLITH-TP220 The BTLITH-TP220 model contains 4 convenient grey Anderson plug connectors, two accessible from the front and two on the back of the battery as shown in Figure 5 . These can be used as input and outputs for charging and running loads up to 50A each.
Installation & User Guide TP Range Connecting to the integrated DC-DC charger The blue connector is reserved for a 11V to 18V DC input, to make use of the internal DC-DC charger. The DC-DC charger is rated for 20A for the BTLITH-TP110 and 40A for the BTLITH-TP220 from a vehicle alternator or start battery.
Installation & User Guide TP Range Tuning the DC-DC Charger As you look at the 20A DC-DC charger, there is an LED and 2 rotary switches on the side face of the battery (N/A on BTLITH-TP110-24 models) NOTE - The BTLITH-TP220 has two separate 20A chargers that must be identically configured to ensure full 40A charging capability.
Installation & User Guide TP Range Connection Procedure After connecting the DC source via the blue Anderson plug, the vehicle engine can be started. The green LED status light should illuminate if the battery is charging. The rotary switches will require adjusting depending on the alternator type.
Installation & User Guide TP Range Ignition Trigger Input The Ignition Trigger Input, a blue or red plug on the front face of the battery, can be used to only charge the TradiePack when an ignition feed is live. This will ensure that you starter battery doesn’t drain unnecessarily when the vehicle is not in use.
Installation & User Guide TP Range Auxiliary DC loads It’s possible to connect smaller auxiliary loads to the Tradie Pack via the cigarette and USB outlets on the front of the unit. Some of these outputs are switched (highlighted red in Figure 10 ) and protected by a 20A breaker at the rear (highlighted red in Figure 11 ).
Installation & User Guide TP Range Connecting a Solar Input The TradiePack can accept unregulated solar voltage via the red Anderson connectors on both the front and rear of the unit. The solar array connected to the TradiePack should not exceed 75V open circuit rating or have a short circuit rating of more than 15A.
Installation & User Guide TP Range AC Output The TradiePack has an integrated inverter, capable of supplying 1200W (BTLITH-TP110 & BTLITH- TP110-24) or 2200W (BTLITH-TP220) of AC power. The inverter has two AU/NZ Type I standard outlets, each with a max of 10A. Parameter BTLITH-TP110 BTLITH-TP220...
Installation & User Guide TP Range 6.0 User Guide Once the battery is securely installed and electrically connected it will automatically be available for use. The internal BMS will actively ensure the battery is always protected and operating safely. The battery requires no user interface or intervention under normal conditions.
