  • Page 3 Präventionsorientierte Frühbehandlung Schädliche Lutschgewohnheiten (Habits) am Beru hi­ gungs sauger, Daumen oder an anderen Lutschkörpern und Dysfunktionen der oralen Muskulatur, die oft mit allgemeinen Haltungsschwächen verbunden sind, be­ einträchtigen nachhaltig das Gesichtswachstum und die Zahnstellungen. Sie erfordern eine frühzeitige, d. h. präventive Behandlung.
  • Page 4 Wie Kieferanomalien entstehen Durch anhaltende Lutschgewohnheiten – gleich welcher Art – wird die Zunge nach hinten und unten verdrängt. Sie liegt nicht mehr an den Zähnen an und verursacht dadurch ein Ungleichgewicht zwischen der Zungen­ und Wangenmuskulatur. Der Oberkiefer wird eingeengt, es entsteht Platzmangel, der schief stehende Schneidezähne zur Folge hat.
  • Page 5 Beim falschen Schlucken, was auch unbewusst ca. 1.500 Mal täglich geschieht, schiebt sich die Zunge immer zwischen die Schneidezähne und verkürzt diese. Die Folge: ein offener Biss. Zur Behandlung von fehlerhaftem Schlucken und Sprech fehlern sollte zusätzlich eine logopädi- sche Therapie erfolgen.
  • Page 6 Der OrthoPreventAligner PR-M ® OrthoPreventAligner PR-M ist aus hoch elasti­ ® schem Silikon gefertigt. Er hat für die Milchzahnreihen eine ideale Halbkreisform, in die sich die Zähne durch die Rückstellkraft des Silikons einordnen lassen. Um bei bestehender Mundatmung eine gesundere Nasenatmung zu erzielen, verschließt das Gerät den Mund bewusst ohne Luftschlitze.

  • Page 8 Über Habits und Fehlfunktionen Unter Habits sind schädliche Lutschgewohnheiten an Fingern, Daumen, Beruhigungssaugern und anderen Fremdkörpern zu verstehen. Sie werden als dynami- sche Funktionsstörungen bezeichnet. Um Kindern das Abgewöhnen dieser schädlichen Gewohnheiten zu erleichtern, kann der OrthoPreventAligner PR-M ® als Präventionsgerät und Ersatz für Sauger oder Daumen getragen werden.

  • Page 15 Prevention-oriented early treatment Harmful sucking habits on the soother, thumb or other bodies and dysfunctions concerning the oral muscula­ ture, which are often associated with general postural weaknesses, permanently impair facial growth and tooth positions. They require early, i.e. preventive, treatment.
  • Page 16 How jaw anomalies develop Persistent sucking habits ­ of whatever kind ­ cause the tongue to be displaced backwards and down­ wards. It no longer rests against the teeth, thus caus­ ing an imbalance between the tongue and cheek muscles. The upper jaw is constricted.
