STARTING AND OPERATING STARTING THE ENGINE “C ” — 3.0L E URBOCHARGER NGINE The 3.0L engine is equipped with an after-run pump to cool the turbocharger after the engine is shut off. Depending on the type of driving and the amount of cargo, the pump will run for up to 20 minutes after the engine has been shut off to circulate coolant through the turbocharger.
SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED SERVICING NOTE: For 3.0L engines: Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 15,000 miles (24,140 km), or 12 months, whichever comes first. The engine controller also monitors the number of hours of engine run time, and will illuminate the oil change indicator after 500 hours (which is not likely to be exceeded except for certain fleet customers with extended engine idling periods).
