Grounding

Grounding
The equipment must be grounded. Grounding reduces
the risk of static and electric shock by providing an
escape wire for the electrical current due to static build
up or in the event of a short circuit.
See Grounding illustration, F
Tanks: use a ground wire to ground each tank to PR70
base
Footswitch: use a ground wire to ground the footswitch
to the PR70 base.
Spray gun/dispense valve: ground through connection
to a properly grounded fluid hose and pump.
PR70 Base: use a ground wire and clamp. Loosen the
grounding lug locknut and washer. Insert one end of a

1.5 mm
(12 ga) minimum ground wire into the slot in
lug and tighten the locknut securely. Connect the other
end of the wire to a true earth ground. Order part

Air and fluid hoses: use only electrically conductive
hoses.
Air compressor: follow manufacturer's recommenda-
tions.
Fluid supply container: follow your local code.
Object being sprayed: follow your local code.
Solvent pails used when flushing: follow local code.
use only conductive metal pails, placed on a grounded
surface. Do not place the pail on a non-conductive sur-
face, such as paper or cardboard, which interrupts
grounding continuity.
