ELECTRONIC CONTROL

The shift bar housing servo motors are controlled by
the ECU of the control components. The ECU is attached
The shift bar housing on the electronically controlled
auto shift transmission is fitted with dual electric indexing
(lateral and longitudinal direction) motors that actuate the
shift forks and slide the clutch gears forward or backward
to engage gears. The motor commands are directed by
the electronic control system ECU.

to the transmission and connected to the engine ECU,
shift selector, speed sensors and other transmission
control devices through wire harness.
NOTE: Engine and transmission electronic control
systems will incorporate an interface module between
ECU modules.
SHIFT SELECTOR MODULE
The auto shifted 10-speed transmissions utilize a shift
by wire system consisting of the Eaton Driver Command
Console (DCC) selector control module. This module is
connected to the transmission ECU by harness. The shift
selector control module may use either lever actuated or
touch pad type control (Figure).
