Maintenance and Cleaning recommendation for Aluminium Microchannel
Condenser
Routine cleaning of coil surfaces is essential to maintain proper operation of the unit. The following
maintenance and cleaning procedures are recommended as part of the routine maintenance activities to
extend the life of the coil.
If a leak is found at the "Aluminium – Copper" joint, it is recommended that the entire microchannel
coil module be replaced. Do not attempt to repair the "Aluminium – Copper" joint on site. (If a
standard copper brazing process is performed at this joint, the process will damage the aluminium
connection.)
Cleaning
To clean the Aluminium microchannel condenser coil, only clean Water is approved as the cleaning
agent. Chemicals and detergents should Not be used for cleaning. Damage to the coil may occur.
Carefully remove any foreign objects or debris attached to the coil face or trapped within the mounting
frame and brackets.
Use a water sprayer for cleaning. A wide spay nozzle is recommended. (Purge detergents or other
cleaning chemicals from hose, nozzle and tank before start cleaning).
Clean condenser face by directing the spray straight into the coil steadily and uniformly from top to
bottom.
Do not exceed 2.0 bar and 45° angle.
Keep the nozzle at minimum 12" from the coil surface.
Do not directly spray the "Aluminium – Copper" joint.
Do not fracture the braze between fins and microchannel.
Allow water to drain from the coil and check for any refrigerant leak.
At excessive pipe lengths than the standard length, pump down may not happen due to less internal
volume of MCX condenser. Request to add gas in case of lost refrigerant
