PPMB1 5.1.2 SB input is not used Power ON In terms of data consistency, the unit's start-up is not critical and can be realized either by coincident connection of power supply voltage to Vcc and SB terminals, or by connecting the voltage first to Vcc terminal and then to SB, or vice versa.
PPMB1 6. Digital inputs / outputs Recording unit is equipped with two input / output pins, located on power supply connector. Both are galvanically isolated from internal electronics of recording unit. Pins can be used as inputs or outputs with backward reading, but never as input and output simultaneously.
Page 22
PPMB1 Outputs Log. output voltage 1 Log. output voltage 0 Setting the output to Log. 1 will connect power supply voltage to DIOx terminal. Setting the output to Log. 0 will disconnect power supply voltage from DIOx terminal. Then it can be used as a digital input. Outputs are equipped with thermal protection against short-circuit.
PPMB1 7. Communication lines and peripherals 7.1. Video output PPMB1xx series recording unit contains one Micro HDMI video output. Video output connector is located on the side of the unit. Supported resolutions are given by video driver built in recording unit BIOS and by driver, installed in operating system.
PPMB1 7.2. RS232 PPMB1xx series recording units contain single RS232 interface on the front panel. Line is not galvanically isolated, i.e. it is galvanically connected with recording unit chassis. Line is used as service interface. Fig. 12 - RS232 connector (X4) Connector Connector type: D-sub DE-9, plug wiring...

PPMB1 9. Mounting 9.1. Mounting instructions Recording unit can be mounted into any position. If the unit contains disk with moving parts (HDD), it must be mounted on SB 20X15DD anti-vibration rubber pads. After the plug-in module with disks is installed, it must be secured with locking bolts, see chapter 9.4.
Page 37
PPMB1 Fig. 28 - Unit mounted with anti-vibration pads Legend Number Description Screw Flat washer Spring washer Anti-vibration pad To ensure proper cooling and access to recording unit, we recommend to keep a free space of minimum 70 mm sidewise and 100 mm from the upper surface of the radiator.
PPMB1 9.2. Cabling PE terminal of power supply connector must be connected with local installation earthing terminal. Minimum cross-section of supplying conductors must be at least 0.75 mm The cables or individual wires connected to the device must be protected against mechanical stress by binding to solid installation parts.
PPMB1 9.3. Mounting apertures Recording unit is intended for mounting on the baseplate by means of four M5 screws with low profile heads. Four holes located in corners with diameter of 5 mm are used for mounting. Location of mounting holes Fig.
PPMB1 9.4. Handling the disks 9.4.1 Plug-in module manipulation The plug-in module with disks is protected against spontaneous sliding out by latched ejector levers. If HDD is used, it is necessary to secure the module with two locking bolts (with recommended final tightening torque from 0.15 Nm to 0.20 Nm). If SSD is used, we recommend to secure the module as well.
