User Recommendations Thank you for purchasing the Wall Termination Vent Hoods for use with your UltimateAir ® RecoupAerator 200DX. Installers should use the following recommendations for proper installation of your termination vent hoods. RECOMMENDATIONS: ® Ducts from your RecoupAerator to the outside of your home or business must be insulated to avoid excess condensation (R‐4.2 to R‐7 is recommended by climate). Outside termination vents of fresh air intake and exhaust ducts should be at least 6 feet apart to minimize re‐circulation of exhaust air and hoods should be at least 18 inches above grade or snow level. Vents should be in a location where they can be accessed for cleaning and away from sources of bad air such as garages, dryer exhaust, and furnace exhaust. Vents should be angled down and away from each other. A length of 6”, 7”, or 8” diameter hard duct (not provided) should be used to connect the vent hoods through the band joist or wall to the inside ducting. Make sure that joints between termination vents and wall are caulked against rain and air and that ducting is securely sealed to termination vents with UL recognized tapes and sealants that are approved for your type of duct installation. DO NOT USE DUCT TAPE! Termination vent hoods can also go in the eves or through the roof. Other manufactured products are available. Keep duct runs as short as possible and size ducts according to Manual D. Make sure that interface between band joists and inside ducts are well insulated and sealed to prevent condensation build‐up and air leakage. ...
