- Page 6 1. General description Suez Canal Searchlight consisting of: 1. The searchlight is made of seawater resistant aluminium, welded and finished with white silicon topcoat. The lamp housing consists of: A hardened, temperature resistant frontglass. A controllable split reflector of precision ground aluminium, giving either a single light beam or two separate light beams each of 5 degrees in the horizontal level with a dark middle sector between 0 and 10 degrees.
