    Turn the unit OFF and unplug your air conditioner before cleaning. GE does not support any servicing of the air conditioner. We strongly recommend that you do not attempt to service the air conditioner yourself.

  • Page 3: Use Of Extension Cords

    If the adapter ground terminal breaks, DO NOT USE the air conditioner until a proper ground has been established. Attaching the adapter ground terminal to a wall outlet cover screw does not ground the appliance unless the cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and the wall outlet is grounded through the house wiring.

    About the controls on the air conditioner—models with touch pads. Features and appearance will vary. Fan on Timer on Air Conditioner Controls Controls ON/OFF Pad Turns air conditioner on and off. Display Shows the set temperature or time remaining on timer.

NOTE: If the air conditioner is off and is then turned on while set to a Cool setting or if turned from a fan setting to a Cool setting, it will take approximately 3 minutes for the compressor to start and cooling to begin.

    To remove: Grasp the tab and gently pull the filter up and out. Outdoor Coils The coils on the outdoor side of the air conditioner should be checked regularly. If they are clogged with dirt or soot they may be professionally cleaned.

    • These instructions are for a standard double-hung window. You will need to modify them for other types of windows. • The air conditioner can be installed without the accordion panels if needed to fit in a narrow window. See the window opening dimensions.

    Close the window. Make sure the window sash is behind the top mounting rail of the air conditioner. It should be level or slightly tilted to the outside. Use a level; about 1/3 bubble will be the correct case slant to the outside.
  • Page 13 Installation Instructions INSTALL A SUPPORT BRACKET AND THE FOAM TOP WINDOW GASKET Attach a support bracket with a Type B screw. Cut the foam top window gasket to the window width. Stuff the foam between the glass and the window to prevent air and insects from getting into the room.

    • Clean the filter at least every 30 days. See the Operating Instructions section. • When the air conditioner is first turned on you need to allow time for the room to cool down. • Check for open furnace floor registers and cold air returns.
