4.2.
Battery replacement
4.2.1.
The display indicates low battery.(fig.3)
"the battery is oK"
measurements are
possible.
4.2.2.
When the battery indicator displays low battery, the battery should be replaced with an AA battery.
4.2.3.
Slide the battery cover off. (fig.4)
4.2.4.
remove the old battery, and replace with a new one.
4.2.5.
replace cover.
4.3.
°c/°f selection switch
4.3.1.
Remove battery cover and use a pen to move the scale switch. (fig.4)
4.4.
lcd error messages
4.4.1.
"Hi" or "lo" is displayed when the temperature being measured is outside the range of the instrument.
4.4.2.
"er1" is displayed when the ambient temperature of the thermometer is below -10°c or above 50°c. in both the cases the
thermometer should be allowed time to stabilize to room temperature 0°c to 40°c.
4.4.3.
"er2" is displayed when the thermometer is exposed to rapid changes in the ambient temperature.
4.4.4.
for all other error messages it is necessary to reset the thermometer. to reset the thermometer turn off, remove the battery, wait a
minimum of 1 minute then replace the battery and turn on.
5. maintainance
5.1.
Keep the reflecting mirrors and lens clean. If mirrors and lens appear dirty use a damp cotton swab to wipe clean. Make sure lens is
dry before use. the thermometer is not water proof, do not submerge in water.
5.2.
store in a dry, childproof area.
environmental protection
recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be
sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment.
When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain off any fluids (if applicable)
into approved containers and dispose of the product and the fluids according to local regulations.
Weee regulations
dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the eu directive on
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (Weee). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed
of in an environmentally protective way. contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
Battery removal
to remove battery see section 4.2
under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators regulations 2009, Jack sealey ltd are required to inform potential
purchasers of products containing batteries (as defined within these regulations), that they are registered wih Valpak's
