Thank you for purchasing the AccuReader by
LockTech wafer reading system. This system will
allow you to read the W1-W9640 commonly found on
Fiats. Following a few simple steps it takes only
minutes to read the depths for each cut in each
position for a complete key.
The AccuReader works on the process of
elimination to decipher the correct depths of the lock.
By checking the deepest cut first you eliminate what
the cuts are not. Therefore it is essential to always
read depth slide #3 first.
All nine positions can be read from the door
lock. The AccuReader key is designed to read wafer
positions 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 on one side of the lock and
wafer positions 2, 4, 6, 8 on the opposite side of the
lock. It is recommended to read the closest to the tip
space first, for example start with the key fully
inserted into the lock. Once that side of the lock is
completely read flip the AccuReader and read the
opposite side from tip to bow.
The GT15R AccuReader does not use a
traditional "wafer trap" instead it has a vertical flat
surface that will contact the side of the wafer instead
of actually "trapping" the wafer.
Please take the time to familiarize yourself
with the tools and verify all pieces are accounted for
from the list of contents below:

USING THE ACCUREADER
1) Always thoroughly clean the lock with an
electronics safe cleaner and key blank to free any
potentially stuck wafers. Do Not Use The
AccuReader As Your Cleaning Key Blank.
2) Use the alignment holes through the AccuReader
key to assist in judging the distance from one wafer
position to the next.
3) Place the insertion slide in the slot on the
AccuReader key. Fully insert the AccuReader key
into the keyway and remove the slide. The
AccuReader key is now at the proper depth to read
the #9 wafer. To determine which side of the lock has
position 9, pull the key out slowly until a wafer drops.
If the key came out only one space before a wafer
drops, then you are currently set up to read the even
side, flip the key over. If the key moved two spaces
before a wafer drops then the key is on the correct
side to read space 9, reinsert the key fully into the
lock and begin reading position 9.
4) Always start reading with the #3 depth slide
tool, then proceed to #2 if necessary. While
keeping slight inward pressure on the key fully insert
the depth slide into the AccuReader key. The
alignment mark on the depth slide will line- up with
the (Y) Yes mark or it will line up with the (N) No
mark.
a) If the #3 depth slide lines up with the Y
then the depth for the #9 wafer is a 3. (IF AND ONLY
IF) the depth slide lines up with a N, then you must
proceed to the #2 depth slide.
b) If the #2 depth slide lines up with the Y
then the depth for the #9 wafer is a 2. If the depth
slide lines up with a N, then the depth for wafer #9 is
a 1. Slowely pull outward on the key two alignment
holes, once the #7 wafer drops reapply slight inward
pressure on the key. You are now ready to read
position 7.
c) Repeat steps a & b for each wafer position
until you have recorded the depth for wafer positions
9, 7, 5, 3, 1.
d) Fully reinsert the AccuReader on the
opposite side with the insertion slide into the keyway.
After removing the insertion slide, pull outward on the
AccuReader until it catches a wafer. You are now
ready to read wafer position #8.
e) Repeat steps a & b for each wafer position
until you have recorded the depth for wafer positions
8, 6, 4, 2.
f) You now have recorded all the positions to
make a complete key.
