    Using Your Notebook Computer Connecting a Power Source ✍ Use your notebook only with the supplied AC adapter. To disconnect your notebook completely from mains voltage, unplug the AC adapter. Please make sure that the socket outlet is easily accessible. Connecting a Power Source You can use either AC power or a rechargeable battery pack as a power source.

The computer automatically charges the battery (the battery indicator light flashes in a double blink pattern as the battery charges). When the battery is 85% full, the battery indicator light turns off.

    If the floppy disk drive is empty, follow the steps below to initialize the BIOS: Remove any peripheral devices connected to the computer. Turn the computer off and then turn it on again. Turn on the computer and press the F2 key when the Sony logo appears. The BIOS setup menu screen appears.
