    Using Battery Power You can use a battery pack as a source of power. The PCGA-BP51 battery pack that comes with your computer is not fully charged at the time of purchase. Follow the steps below to insert and charge the battery pack. You can also purchase the high-capacity PCGA-BP52 battery pack as a separate option.

The computer automatically charges the battery (the battery indicator light flashes in a double blink pattern as the battery charges). When the battery is 85% full, the battery indicator light turns off.

    Keep the battery pack in the computer while it is directly connected to AC power. The battery pack continues to charge while you are using the computer. If your battery level falls to less than 10%, you should either attach the AC adapter to recharge the battery or shut down your computer and insert a fully charged battery.

    Internet and to register your computer and software online In order to register your Sony VAIO Mini Notebook Computer, register your software online, and use Sony Online Support, you must connect to a phone line. Also, you must register your computer to receive the extended warranty.

  • Page 73 My software program “locks up” or crashes Contact the software publisher or designated provider for technical support. See “About Your Sony Notebook Computer” for a complete list of adresses. I cannot play a CD-ROM disc Make sure that the switch of the CD-ROM drive is turned on.
  • Page 74 When I click an application icon a message appears, such as “You must insert the application CD into your CD-ROM drive”, and the software does not start Some titles require specific files that are located on the application’s CD-ROM disc. Insert the disc and try starting the program again. Make sure you place the disc in the tray with the label side facing up.

Check that the phone number the program is dialing is correct. If you connect a GSM phone, make sure that the programming of the supplied PC card is compatible with it: use the supplied card loader to re-program it (refer to your card’s user manual).

    The system recovery will completely reinstall the originally configured system on your PC. You can only use this Recovery CD-ROM on the Sony notebook you purchased and not on any other Sony PC or other manufacturer's PC! Applying a system recovery means that you will lose all your data stored on the hard drive.

You will need this number to complete the recovery process. Connect your CD-ROM drive to the notebook, insert the Sony Product Recovery CD-ROM and turn on your computer (using AC power only).
