    Using Battery Power You can use a battery pack as a source of power. The PCGA-BP51 battery pack that comes with your computer is not fully charged at the time of purchase. Follow the steps below to insert and charge the battery pack. You can also purchase the high-capacity PCGA-BP52 battery pack as a separate option.

The computer automatically charges the battery (the battery indicator light flashes in a double blink pattern as the battery charges). When the battery is 85% full, the battery indicator light turns off.

    Keep the battery pack in the computer while it is directly connected to AC power. The battery pack continues to charge while you are using the computer. If your battery level falls to less than 10%, you should either attach the AC adapter to recharge the battery or shut down your computer and insert a fully charged battery.

    Internet and to register your computer and software online In order to register your Sony VAIO Mini Notebook Computer, register your software online, and use VAIO Link services, you must connect to a phone line. Also, you must register your computer to receive the extended warranty.

    VAIO Notebook Computer User Guide Connecting the CD-ROM Drive* You can use the PCGA-CD5 CD-ROM drive with your notebook computer to read CD-ROMs, Audio CDs, CD Extras and Video CDs. The pick-up cover is attached to the lens of the CD-ROM drive at the factory setting. Remove it before using the CD-ROM drive.

    Due to the use of high precision components and the technology of the electronic connectors of your Notebook computer and memory modules, to avoid the invalidation of your Guarantee by mishandling, Sony Corporation recommends that: you contact your dealer to install a new memory module, you do not install it yourself, you do not touch the connectors or open the memory panel.
