    Using Battery Power You can use a battery pack as a source of power. The PCGA-BP51 battery pack that comes with your computer is not fully charged at the time of purchase. Follow the steps below to insert and charge the battery pack. You can also purchase the high-capacity PCGA-BP52 battery pack as a separate option.

The computer automatically charges the battery (the battery indicator light flashes in a double blink pattern as the battery charges). When the battery is 85% full, the battery indicator light turns off.

    Both the battery and power indicators blink when the battery is running out of power. Keep the battery pack in the computer while it is directly connected to AC power. The battery pack continues to charge while you are using the computer. If your battery level falls to less than 10%, you should either attach the AC adapter to recharge the battery or shut down your computer and insert a fully charged battery.

You can store the pen in the pen holder on the left side of the LCD screen. The method for inserting and removing the pen differs, depending on your model.

The release button comes out. Do not force a card into the slot. It may damage the connector pins. If you have difficulty inserting a card, check that you are inserting the card with the correct orientation.

Reboot your system to correct the problem.

    Using Infrared Communication Devices Your computer includes an infrared port, located on the right side of the computer. You can use this port to communicate with other infrared- equipped devices with compatible protocols, such as a digital still camera or other computers.     Using Power Saving Modes When you use a battery as the source of power for your computer, you can take advantage of power management settings to conserve battery life. In addition to the normal operating mode, which allows you to turn off specific devices, your computer has two distinct power saving modes: System Suspend and System Hibernation.
