FLIGHT PLANNING
Weather conditions
Wind ground: max. 9 m/s (17.5 kn) (see picture)
Wind in flight: max. 12 m/s (23 kn)
Temperature: -12 °C to 50 °C (10.4 °F to 122 °F)
Do not fly in rain or snow.
Be aware that there is no software restriction between
1500 m – 4000 m regarding the wind tolerance (ground).
Batteries
UAV battery packs (fully charged)
RC Transmitter
Firmwares
QBase software
Mission planning in QBase 3D
UAV ASSEMBLY
Set up the laptop and open QBase
Set up the QBase modem and connect it to the Laptop
Set up the ADS-B receiver
Set up the iBase
Micro SD-card is inserted
Antenna center is exactly above the reference mark
Not shaded by objects
Turn on the RC Transmitter
Check the UAV for damages (e.g. surfaces, propeller)
Magnetometer Calibration (If required)
Obligatory: flight location > 50 km away from the last flight location
Calibration and take-off area is free of metal (parking decks, cars, metal structures) or
any devices causing electric or magnetic fields (power lines, generators, mobile phones)
All parts assembled and locked
Remove the payload transport lock
Battery pack is connected (UAV will start automatically)
Take-off position
Take-off from the UAV transportation box.
Optional: Cover the ground with a canvas cover. Fix it with weights.
TAKE-OFF
RC and QBase Modem connection
Camera detected
Camera > Trigger: Triggers and exposures count up in QBase and on the RC
QBase final Check
Obstacle clearance in reality
No obstacle within a radius of 20 m around Home Waypoint
Re-/transition, descent circle, flight paths: altitude 20 m higher than obstacles
UAV heading
Ensure the direction of the displayed UAV corresponds with the direction of the UAV on the ground
Do not fly if the heading on the ground is not correct: critical deviation ≥ 10°
It is saftey-relevant to strictly follow the Quick-Start-Guide
