Settings ("CUSTOMIZE")
You can make further setting to the speaker
system with other surround options. For detailed
explanations about all options, see also "Speaker
Surround Options" (page 84).
Select "CUSTOMIZE" in the AMP menu. To use
the AMP menu, see "Using the AMP Menu"
(page 91). The default settings are underlined.
"AUDIO DRC" (audio dynamic range
compression) (Dolby Digital DVD only)
Narrows the dynamic range of a soundtrack to
make it audible even at low volume. This setting
is effective only when listening with the speaker
system. See page 87 for details.
No compression of dynamic
"DRC OFF"
range.
"DRC STD"
Reproduces the soundtrack
(DRC standard)
with the dynamic range that
the recording engineer
intended.
"DRC MAX"
Maximum compression of
dynamic range.
"DUAL MONO" (dual mono) (For multiplex
broadcast only)
Allows you to enjoy multiplex broadcast sound
when AC-3 multiplex broadcast signals are
received. See page 89 for details.
Outputs the main sound from
"MAIN"
the centre speaker.
"SUB"
Outputs the sub sound from
the centre speaker.
"MAIN+SUB"
Outputs the main and sub
sounds from the centre
speaker.
"MAIN/SUB"
Outputs the main sound from
the front left speaker, and
sub sound from the front
right speaker.
Note
If "CENTER SP" is set to "CENTER NO" in the AMP
menu (page 92), sound is output from the front left and
right speakers.
"A/V SYNC"
Adjusts any delay between picture and sound. See
page 88 for details.
Does not adjust.
"SYNC OFF"

Adjust the delay between the
picture and sound.
