PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The RVC-7W's isolated symmetrically bal-
anced power ensures no ground contamina-
tion from your incoming line will affect your
fi ltered AC power, as it is totally isolated. This
total isolation of both ground and incoming
AC power means your critical video reproduc-
tion will not suffer AC hum bars, RF, or EMI
contamination from common AC ground lines.
These distortions occur when AC power is
shared throughout a building or home. They
can cause hum bars and a signifi cant loss of
clarity in video images, by signifi cantly increas-
ing the noise fl oor. With Symmetrical Balanced
Power, the incoming AC signal is transformed
into two legs of half voltage, each with op-
posite polarity (i.e. 120 VAC Line and 0 VAC
Neutral is transformed into 60 VAC Line, 60
VAC Neutral - reference to output Ground at
0 VAC). With these "Balanced" lines in oppos-
ing polarity and equal potential, virtually all
common-mode noise is cancelled. Further, the
RVC-7W's exclusive Narrow Bandwidth Tech-
nology dramatically cancels transverse AC line
noise as well. This ensures a supply of virtually
noise-free AC power while preventing noise
and magnetic fi elds from penetrating or radiat-
ing from the AC cords that power your critical
video components. Additionally, the RVC-7W's
GFCI (ground fault) circuit, in tandem with our
isolated symmetrical power technology, and
virtually maintenance free TVSS circuitry, as-
sure electrical safety, and protectionof your
valued video component.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION -
PRELIMINARY
Before unpacking your unit, inspect the box
and packing materials for any obvious dam-
age. If internal damage is likely, contact the
carrier who delivered the unit before proceed-
ing with unpacking. If after unpacking, shipping
damage is evident, contact the carrier. Save
all shipping and packing materials. You may
need them if you ever return the unit to our
factory for service. The box should contain
the RVC-7W unit, Left and Right (L - type)
mounting brackets, mounting washers and
installation screws, owner's manual, and war-
ranty registration card. If anything is missing,
please contact Furman Customer Service. Fill
out and return your warranty registration card.
Doing so will assist us in informing you about
upgrades or other vital information. The power
source (wiring) to which a RVC-7W is con-
nected must be adequate for use at 7 Amps
continuous operation. Though the branch cir-
cuit going back to your breaker panel may be
higher than 7 Amps, this is acceptable as the
RVC-7W has an internal 7 Amp circuit breaker.
Wiring to the RVC-7W's AC input terminal
block can be done with either solid or stranded
insulated #16 to #12 gauge wire. The AC wire
should have proper safety listing and meet
the electrical codes for your area. If in doubt,
consult your dealer or local electrician. The
RVC-7W is supplied with a left and a right side
mounting bracket. These brackets are secured
to the walls wooden studs with the supplied
#10 screws. When properly placed, the main
unit rests on the brackets four hooks, which
will easily support the RVC-7W's weight. The
mounting brackets allow depth adjustment, so
