The module comprises a single PCB populated with 1-pole electro-mechanical relays configured as a single 16x4 (40-549-001), single 8x8 (40-549-002), dual 8x4 (40-549-003) or a single 8x4 (40-549-004) matrix. The relays are energised via control signals from relay drivers U17 to U20. Each relay driver is loaded with serial data from PCI bridge U1 to operate the required matrix crosspoint via digital isolators U21 and U22.

PROGRAMMING THE POWER MATRIX The 40-549-001 is a single pole switching matrix with 16 connections on the X-axis and 4 connections on the Y-axis. Connections are made by operating the relays at the crosspoints between X and Y lines allowing single X-Y connections, or X-X connections using a Y line as a path.
