tightened you will hear a clicking sound. After 4-6 clicks
the chuck is securely tightened around the accessory.
Your tool is equipped with an automatic spindle lock
mechanism. This allows you to open and close the chuck
with one hand.
Be sure to tighten chuck with one hand on the chuck sleeve
and one hand holding the tool for maximum tightness.
To release the accessory, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
Chuck and Key (Fig. B, DR560)
1. Grasp the rear half of the chuck
and use your other hand to rotate the front half in
the counterclockwise direction, as viewed from the
chuck end.
2. Insert the accessory about 3/4" (19 mm) into the chuck,
and tighten securely by holding the rear half of the chuck
and rotating the front portion in the clockwise direction
as viewed from the chuck end.
3. Place chuck key

into each of the three holes and
securely tighten in a clockwise direction.
nOTE: Tighten chuck with all three holes to
prevent slippage.
Removing and Attaching Keyless Chuck
(Fig. E)
1. Open the chuck

2. Tighten an allen key
(not supplied) into the chuck and strike it with a soft
hammer

in a clockwise direction as shown.
3. Remove the allen key.
4. Remove the chuck by turning it counterclockwise.
5. To attach the chuck, screw it onto the spindle and secure
it with the chuck retaining screw.
Removing and Attaching Keyed Chuck
(Fig. F)
1. Place chuck key

2. Using a soft hammer
direction. This will loosen the chuck retaining screw
inside the chuck.
3. Open chuck jaws fully and remove the chuck retaining
screw, located in the chuck, by turning it clockwise using
a screwdriver (lefthand thread).
4. Place key in chuck. Using a soft hammer
sharply in a counterclockwise direction.
5. Remove the chuck by turning it counterclockwise.
6. To attach the chuck, screw it onto the spindle.

Variable Speed Trigger and Forward/
Reverse Control Button (Fig. A)
The tool is turned on and off by pulling and releasing the
variable speed trigger

To select forward rotation (clockwise), release the trigger
and depress the forward/reverse control button on the
right side of the tool.

tool in the off position. When changing the position of the
control button, be sure the trigger is released.
nOTE: Continuous use in variable speed range is not
recommended. It may damage the switch and should
be avoided.
Forward/Reverse Control Button Model

To select forward rotation (counterclockwise), release
the trigger and depress the forward/reverse control
on the left side of the tool.

Performing an Application (Fig. A)

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal
injury, ALWAYS ensure workpiece is anchored or
clamped firmly.

WARNING: Always wait until the motor has come to
a complete standstill before changing the direction
of rotation.
Prior to Performing Work
Install the appropriate bit or accessory into the chuck.

Do not use this tool to mix or pump easily
combustible or explosive fluids (benzine,
alcohol, etc.).
