CAVEAT: READ THIS GUIDE CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE INSTALLATION. The purpose of this guide is to provide detailed instructions about installing the D-BOX welded triangle base with a recliner recliner – Inorca Milano, Lucca, and Euphoria- in a movie auditorium.

MOTION SYSTEM INSTALLLATION PROCEDURE PREPARATION D-BOX allows the use of shielded CAT.5e or CAT.6e cables. Place a piece of cardboard on the floor to protect the recliner finish. Before you proceed with the installation, familiarize yourself with the parts and read the installation instructions.

Inorca Milano Figure 1 Actuator support bracket 1. Feed the actuator from the inside through the opening on the recliner lower frame.
Inorca Milano 2. Install 2 brackets (2) on the actuator with bolt (8) and lock washer (9). Use the middle hole on the bracket. 3. Feed the actuator cable through the hole at the bottom of the recliner and install each actuator in the hole by securing the brackets with bolt (5) and star washer (10).
Inorca Milano ROUTING AND SECURING ACTUATOR CABLES Use tie-wraps (11), clamps (3), and screws (7) to secure cables per the following photos. Make sure there are no loose cables and interference. INSTALLING THE REAR PIVOT Install the pivot assembly at the bottom back of the recliner with 4 bolts (6) and 4 star washers (11).
Inorca Milano INSTALLING THE ACM Install the ACM on the underframe with 4 bolts. CONNECTING THE ACTUATOR CABLE TO THE ACM Take good note of the ‘’A’’ and ‘’B’’ positions.

Inorca Milano INSTALLING THE POWER CABLE Secure the power cable to the ACM and feed it through the hole in the frame. INSTALLING THE MOTION INTENSITY CONTROLLER 1. Install the controller housing with 2 screws in the opening on top of the right armrest.
Inorca Milano Note: the screw must be under the locking tab as shown. 3. Feed the motion intensity controller RJ45 cable in the opening. 4. Use a fishing stick to feed the RJ45 cable from the right armrest to the ACM and plug the RJ45 cable in the port on the ACM (see connecting the controller on page 25).
• In the projection room, connect the D-Box MFX Management Server before proceeding with the installation of the recliners. This allows the server to download the latest updates, preventing delays when comes the time to test the system.
Inorca Milano MARKING THE CONCRETE ANCHORS LOCATIONS Before drawing the reference lines, refer to Annex B, Recliner Clearance Procedure. This procedure determines the floor reference lines distances to the riser/wall. DRAWING THE REFERENCE LINES Front & Rear Floor Reference Line: the Floor Reference Lines refer to the position, from the rear riser/wall to the plate’s front and rear.

Inorca Milano DRILLING AND CLEANING THE CONCRETE SCREW ANCHOR HOLES SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Review Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before use. Safety glasses, earplugs, and dust masks should be used when drilling holes into concrete, stone and masonry. Wear gloves and safety glasses when handling and dispensing adhesive.
The stud anchors have been installed. LAYING THE RECLINER TO RECLINER DATA CABLES In the Auditorium, for each row, feed one molded Shielded CAT.5E cable (Grey cable – provided by D-BOX) in the U- shaped conduit in order to daisy-chain the motion plates.
Inorca Milano 230V version Feed the cable carefully in the conduit to make sure you do not damage the connector at the end - Each cable end should be equal length. Refer to the DAISY-CHAINING THE section for details on how to identify the cable ends.
Inorca Milano TERMINATING THE CABLES 1. From the end of the conduit that draws the 2 CAT.5E cables to the first recliner of the row, cut the 2 wires at 90 cm (3 feet). Make sure you keep the identification of the wires.
Inorca Milano TESTING THE CABLES 1. In the Auditorium, connect the 2 CAT.5E cables from one row using a standard cable tester. Note: D_BOX can provide a Cable Test Kit with a right-through adapter. 2. In the Projection Room, connect the row’s 2 cables to the Test Box. Proceed with the cable test by pressing each button on the Test Box.
Installing the plate INSTALLING THE WELDED TRIANGLE BASE Visually inspect the recliner and motion system to make sure they are in good condition. PREPARATION 1. Make sure the floor and anchoring holes are clean. 2. Make sure the electrical installation is done and operational. PROCEDURE Note: Position the plates per the applicable auditorium recliner recliners floor layout.
Inorca Milano CONNECTING THE CONTROLLERS Remove the backrest and lift the cushion to access electrical components. RECLINER CONNECTIONS – OVERVIEW Make sure you identify the ACM. Final connections are made later (see MAKING THE FINAL CONNECTIONS, page 31). Place a piece of cardboard on the floor to protect the recliner against scratches.
Inorca Milano Connections schematic CONNECTING THE RECLINER CONTROLLER 1. Feed the recliner controller cable from the right armrest then connect it to the recliner motor DIN connector. 2. Connect the recliner motor DIN connector to the power pack. 3. Secure all the cables with tie wraps. Make sure cables cannot get pinched.

Place the recliner on the welded triangle base. Make sure the actuators and pivots slide in their respective holding brackets.

Inorca Milano MAKING THE FINAL CONNECTIONS Figure 10 ACM Connections Connect to the main power source. The recliner should start its initialisation cycle. FUNCTIONNAL TESTING 1. Restore power to recliner and ACM. The recliner should initialize. 2. Sit in the recliner and push on the up and down arrows on the controller; observe that the sequencing light bars illuminate and the motion intensity varies according to the command.
Inorca Milano CONNECTIONS DIAGRAM Motion System Schematic TESTING CONTINUITY Before you proceed with the test, make sure all connections are secured. Along each row, between 2 recliners, apply one probe of the multimeter on an ACM and the other probe on next recliner ACM.
Inorca Milano COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION Once the recliner installation is done, use the System Configuration Guide to complete the system installation. CLEANING UP Dispose of all packaging material. Make sure the recliners are clean.
Inorca Milano MAINTENANCE TASKS Before doing any maintenance on the Motion System, remove seat from service and cut power to the seat and ACM. ACM REPLACEMENT Remove the recliner from the plate by removing the screws securing the locking bracket to the plate, then turn the recliner on its side.

Inorca Milano Remove the screws holding the cables access door and plates to the ACM. Unplug the motor and encoder cables. Take good note of the ‘’A’’ and ‘’B’’ positions. Place the replacement ACM at its location, then secure the ACM with the bolts.

Inorca Milano Remove the cable clamps and tie-raps. Remove the screws holding the actuator brackets to the bottom plate and remove the screws holding the brackets to the actuator. Note: keep the actuator protector for installation with the new actuator.

Inorca Milano Plug the power cable in the ACM and install the plates and access door, and then secure the power cable with tie-raps.
Inorca Milano REMOTE CONTROLLER REPLACEMENT Remove the screw holding the controller to its housing and unplug the RJ45. Plug the RJ45 cable in the controller and place the controller in the housing, and then secure the controller with the screw.
Inorca Milano REMOTE CONTROLLER HOUSING REPLACEMENT 1. Install the controller housing with screws in opening on top of right armrest. Note: Make sure the screws are tight but avoid overtorquing. Note: Install the screws at the right angle and make sure the housing is fully seated on its wooden supports.
Inorca Milano INSTALLATION PROCEDURE IF THE TAB IS BROKEN If you wish to use a housing with a broken tab, use the following procedure to secure the housing on the armrest. Drill holes – 5/32” drill bit - at locations shown. Use only position TBD.
Annex A ANNEX A – SAFETY CLEARANCE RECOMMENDATIONS Make sure the recliner row footprint complies with local building code articles about emergency rules; for example, clearance between recliners for emergency evacuation of the auditorium. MILANO...
Annex C ANNEX C - RECLINER CLEARANCE PROCEDURE This procedure determines the floor reference lines distances to the riser/wall. Place a mounting plate at each end of the row. Slide the recliner on the mounting plate with the cups. Secure the recliner with the brackets and plug the reclining motor.

Fully extend the recliner’s most distant actuator from the stair/wall. Adjust the recliner to get a clearance of 2.5 inches between the stairs or wall and the closest recliner armrest. Validate the distance between the recliner footrest and the closest static object in front. Note: always refer to the local building code and/or the architect clearance requirements.
