They reduce the water in enclosed structural environments like buildings or parts of a building by removing water vapor from the air. Operating Your Dehumidifier Place the dehumidifier in upright position If the dehumidifier has been laid down in a horizontal position for any time over a few minutes, you must set it upright (vertical) for 30 minutes before starting.
