Use this appliance only with a polarized UL-, CSA- or ETL rated extension cord for outdoor, all-weather use. The appliance plug will fit into a polarized extension cord only one way. If the appliance plug does not fit fully into the extension cord, reverse the plug.

  • Page 12 PREPARATION SAW CHAIN LUBRICATION Never operate the chain saw without saw chain oil. The use of the chain saw without enough saw chain oil will damage the unit. Only use special saw chain oil. Other oils will run the risk of damaging the unit and voiding the warranty.
  • Page 13 PREPARATION ADJUST THE CHAIN TENSION Always check the chain tension before use, after the first cuts and regularly during use, approx. every 10 minutes. Upon initial operation, new chains can lengthen considerably. WARNING: Unplug the chainsaw from the power source before adjusting the saw chain tension.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT: This appliance is intended for outdoor, residential use only. Do not use it indoors or for commercial or industrial purposes. This appliance is for household use only. • Basic limbing,felling,woodcutting,and remove buttress roots. All of the wooden objects intended to be cut with this chain saw should be no thicker than the guide bar's maximum cutting capabilities.

  • Page 16 Braked SAWING TECHNIQUES IMPORTANT: It is recommended that first-time user should, as a minimum practice, cutting logs on a saw-horse or cradle. • Saw off the lower branches on the tree first. By doing so, it is easier for the cut branches to fall to the ground.

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE WARNING In order to avoid personal injury and the risk of fire and electric shock, disconnect the power supply before adjusting, inspecting, or cleaning the chain saw. CLEANING • Disconnect the power supply. • Wipe off the housing and the plastic components using a moist, soft cloth. Do not use strong solvents or detergents on the plastic housing or plastic components.
  • Page 21 SHARPENING THE SAW CHAIN WARNING Unplug unit from power source before servicing. Severe injury or death could occur from electrical shock or body contact with moving chain. Cutting edges on chain are sharp. Use protective gloves when handling chain. Keep chain sharp. Your saw will cut faster and more safely. A dull chain will cause undue sprocket, guide bar, chain, and motor wear.
  • Page 22 REPLACING THE SHARPENING STONE The sharpening stone is designed to wear at the same rate as the chain. Always replace the stone when replacing the chain, even if appears to have more life. WARNING REPLACE SAW CHAIN AND THE SHARPENING STONE AT THE SAME TIME.
