Introduction
This document covers installation for
the WC-FM300-US Ultrasonic Flow
Monitor for pipe sizes of 1/4 - 2".
The WaterCompass FM300 Ultrasonic Flow
Monitor is a customized product made up of an
integrated WT2W-H20 Flow Decoder, a clamp-
on flow monitor and a 30 V power supply.
The monitor sends real-time flow data to the
WaterCompass Data Collector that is viewed from
the WaterCompass dashboard. Hourly summation
of flow data is stored for analysis and reporting.
Before you begin, review the safety precautions
at the end of this installation guide.
Pre-Configured Settings
To ensure accuracy, the Flow Monitor will be
pre-configured with the following settings:
Pipe size (varies)
Pipe type (varies)
Flow direction (right)
K-value (60.1)
If the values relating to pipe size, K-value, flow
direction and pipe size have to be changed
for any reason, please contact Customer
Support for additional assistance.

    WATERCOMPASS FM300-US FLOW MONITOR: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1/4 - 2” Step 1: Mount the WaterCompass Data Collector Enclosure Wall Mounting Instructions Use the template enclosed with the Water Compass Data Collector for assistance when mounting the enclosure to a wall. Locate the 2 mounting holes on the back of the enclosure.
  • Page 4 WATERCOMPASS FM300-US FLOW MONITOR: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1/4 - 2” Step 2: Connect the WaterCompass Data Collector to AC Power The WaterCompass Data Collector incorporates a dual voltage power supply and can be connected to a single phase 120 V ac or single phase 220 V ac source. Please refer to the 120 V ac or 220 V ac diagrams on pages 5-6 for proper connections.

  • Page 8 WATERCOMPASS FM300-US FLOW MONITOR: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1/4 - 2” Step 5: Attach the Flow Monitor to the Pipe Before beginning, take some time to familiarize yourself with the part names and functions of the flow monitor. Caution: During the installation process, it is very important to not slide the bracket with the rubber backing against the pipe.

Unscrew the retaining nut and remove the power cord connector from the top of the FM300-US Flow Monitor. Using a Phillips-head screw driver, remove the two screws at either end of the flow monitor.

Taking the flow direction into consideration, reposition the monitor on the mounting bracket and realign the mounting holes. Replace the screws on either end of the sensor.

Read and follow the guidelines below to ensure that the flow monitor is installed in just the right location to deliver the results you need.
