Installing the Cradle

Because the Cradle has to be connected to the connector of the ThinkPad
Ultrabay Plus Device Carrier, install the Device Carrier first, following the
instructions in the user's guide for the ThinkPad Ultrabay Plus Device Carrier.
After installing the Device Carrier into the drive bay, do as follows:
1. Remove the Ultrabay Plus device connector protection cap from the Device
Carrier.
2. Plug the Cradle connector to the Ultrabay Plus device connector of the
Device Carrier. See the diagram below.
3. Press down the Cradle, and then slide the Ultrabay device lock mechanism
backward to lock the Cradle.
4. The Cradle has a "HotSync" button like the one on the HotSync cradle that
came with your WorkPad. See your WorkPad user's guide for details on the
operation and function of the button.
Note: If your ThinkPad computer is operated by battery power and the Cradle
and the WorkPad are attached to the computer, the WorkPad is charged
from the battery. This shortens the length of time that the computer can
operate by battery power.
