Overview Introduction The Vanguard 320 is a compact network access device for connecting LAN and serial devices to public and private networks services such as frame relay, ISDN, and X.25. The Vanguard 320 is a desktop-size standalone device supporting up to two optional daughtercards, as shown in Figure 1-1.
(The total DRAM in your Vanguard 320 unit will depend on what you ordered.) If your Vanguard 320 has only 4 MB DRAM and you wish to use Vanguard Applications Ware Release 5.4 or higher, please contact a representative to order a DRAM upgrade.
Calls between two FXS ports within the same Vanguard 320 are not supported. FT1/FE1 The FT1/FE1 daughtercards allow a Vanguard 320 to transfer data over a T1 or E1 Daughtercards network.
