1. UNPACKING and HANDLING
Each unit is shipped assembled and factory tested.
Ensure that all accessories are removed from the container before discarding packing material
2. MECHANICAL INSPECTION
Inspect the front and rear of the equipment for shipping damage. Make sure the equipment is
clean, and no connectors are broken, damaged, or loose.

3. INSTALLATION and CONNECTIONS
a. AWG 22-24 Category 6 cable wires are recommended for this unit.
b. This patch panel supports T568A and T568B wiring configurations. Verify the wiring
configuration conforms to the wiring color scheme depicted on the back panel cover.
c. Use the proper termination tools such as a 110 Impact Tool
or Krone Impact Tool.
d. Using the supplied screws the patch panel should be
installed
in
communications cabinet.
e. Remove 3" of jacket insulation and center spline from the cable. Leave no more than
8mm or 0.3 inch of wire to make the connection to the IDC slots.
f.
Locate the jacketed cable above the IDCs.
g. Using the wiring color scheme displayed on the back panel,
terminate each cable pair in its color slot. Ensure the solid
colored wire of each pair is placed in the correct slot. Use a
110 or Krone Impact Tool to impact the wire into the 110IDC.
h. Place the IDC cover over the connections to reduce the
presence of dirt and moisture on the connections in
addition to better securing the wires.
