Configure the MAC 5000

Installation Procedures
1. Select Main Menu → System Setup.
2. Enter the system password.
3. Select Basic System → Miscellaneous Setup.
4. Setting for Serial Power Always On.

If MAC 5000 is 8A or lower, set this option to Yes.
‹
If the MAC 5000 is at 8B or higher give the customer a choice.
The information below is provided to help them in making this
choice.

If Serial Power Always On is set to Yes:
‹
there is additional battery power consumption
(approximately 30% more),
‹
connection with the MUSE system will be quicker, and
‹
the MAC 5000 user will be able to detect in or out of range
before attempting wireless communication with the MUSE
system (Associated LED)

If Serial Power Always On is set to No:
‹
power consumption is similar to power consumption without
MobileLink wireless option,
‹
the MAC 5000 user will not be able to detect in or out of
range before attempting wireless communication with the
MUSE system, and
‹
communicating with the MUSE system may require multiple
attempts.
5. Select Return → Transmission.
6. Verify Use IR for Serial Line is set to No.
7. Select 115.2k for the Serial Line Baud Rate.
8. Select Serial line (MUSE) for the Default Location.
9. Select Return. (twice).
10. Select Save Setup.
11. Select To System.
12. Select Main Menu.
