General Safety Warnings General power tool safety warnings WARNING! Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term ‘power tool’ in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool. - Page 4 Work area safety • Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
- Page 5 • Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. • When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.

- Page 13 This is important as it can prevent serious damage to the battery pack. • Only charge a battery pack of the same model provided by the manufacturer or different models recommended by them. Safety warnings for battery packs • Do not dismantle, open or shred cells or battery packs.
- Page 14 • Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or battery pack has been swallowed. • Keep the battery pack clean and dry. • Wipe the battery pack terminals with a clean, dry cloth if they become dirty. • The battery pack needs to be charged before use.

Maintenance and storage • When the machine is stopped for servicing, inspection, or storage, or to change an accessory, shut off the power source, disconnect the machine from the supply and make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop.

Warning Symbols WARNING! To reduce the risk of injury, the user must read the instruction manual carefully. Wear ear protection. Wear eye protection. Do not use in the rain or leave outdoors while it is raining. Keep bystanders away. Do not open or remove safety shields while motor is running. - Page 20 Remove battery pack before repair and maintenance. This symbol is known as the ‘Crossed-out Wheelie Bin Symbol’. When this symbol is marked on a product or battery, it means that it should not be disposed of with your general household waste. Some chemicals contained within electrical/electronic products or batteries can be harmful to health and the environment.

Do not charge the battery pack in a very low or very high air tempera- ture. This is important and will prevent serious damage to the bat- tery pack.
