This document presents a user guide for repeater Network Management System – Infinity version: Coiler NMS Infinity. Its goal is to guide network and operation engineers on how to use NMS Infinity for repeater network management. By following the manual, engineers should be able to operate NMS Infinity without knowledge of its architecture.

Non-alphabetic character (for example !, $, #, %) Landing page There are two ways to view all the repeaters in NMS Infinity. First is with the traditional list, second is on Google map (new option on NMS Infinity). The default landing page is on the traditional list view.
NMS Infinity. If these settings are not defined, users may experience troubles using NMS Infinity. • Section 2 (red) – these settings are typically set by Coiler during NMS Infinity installation or they already contain some sort of default setting.

Please use the same column format as the exported nmsuser.csv file so all the fields can be mapped accordingly. Note: it is recommended that each user to be created directly within NMS Infinity. If import is needed, the administrator that would be performing the import would need to be very clear on the Zone_ID and Group_ID during the CSV file creation.

To navigate to user groups configuration page, please select the menu item “Setting”, then “User Group Settings”. There are groups created by default during NMS Infinity installation. However system admin should create additional groups based on company policy and then assign users to the groups accordingly.

Maintainers are involved in customer support and case resolution on site. They should be informed immediately after incident/alarm from a repeater is received by NMS Infinity. This information will be transmitted to a maintainer immediately after NMS Infinity receives an alarm indication.
Information can be modified by changing data in fields and then clicking the “Modify” button. If data are modified successfully, the searched results would be updated accordingly. A.4.3. To create a Repeater Type, click on the “Add Repeater Type” as in one of the red circles shown above. Users with Repeater Model setting rights can add new repeater types: 1. Choose device parameter file (provided by Coiler) and click “Upload” button to import device parameters.
Users with “repeater model setting” – remove rights, can see the “remove” icon. To remove a repeater type, click on the remove icon of the corresponding repeater type. Batch Sync Repeaters A.7. After adding number of repeaters, the repeaters have to be synchronized so that NMS Infinity receives confirmation that repeaters indeed exist. To make synchronization of multiple repeaters easier, Batch Sync Repeaters option can be used. This allows for synchronization of multiple repeaters in parallel.
1. “Search” for repeaters to add polling time. User can fill in query conditions to filter results, then click “Search” to find corresponding repeaters. Searching without filter conditions will list all repeaters from NMS INFINITY database. 2. Tick Checkboxes for the repeaters for adding batch polling time.
Users can remove repeater auto-polling time on the Repeater Polling Time List. Check rows to remove corresponding repeaters from batch polling, then click “Remove” button to delete items. Users can modify alarm severity, just click on “edit” icon. Drop down menu will show up to modify severity level. User can change severity and click “Update” button to save alarm severity. Clicking “Cancel” will abort the changes. NMS Infinity User Manual Ver. 1.1 Page | 34...

This service is not that relevant for NMS Infinity users and administrators, since this is responsible for internal system communications and will be preconfigured by Coiler. It uses SNMP protocol to enable communication of repeaters with dashboard service.
Infinity via a modem or FTP server for sending and receiving SMS messages. Moreover it also sends SNMP traps to preconfigured IP address, communicates with customer’s email server and is responsible for NMS INFINITY database backup and backup settings. In order to navigate to Dashboard Setting, please move the mouse cursor over the menu item “Setting”, then select and click on the sub menu item “Dashboard Setting”.
Auto-backup: a user need to click sub-function “setting” and check auto-backup flag, then set backup cycle mode and backup retention period parameter. Then a database file should be chosen and “Restore” should be clicked to open restore database confirmation window. Click “yes” to execute restore process. After database restore is accomplished successfully, the system will show “Restore OK!” message. NMS Infinity User Manual Ver. 1.1 Page | 45...

Coiler offers different packaging options for different level usage customers. Additional user or device license can be purchased through Coiler’s sales representatives. Note: license control is done by physical USB dongle key provided by Coiler. The USB dongle would need to be updated to extend valid usage period.

List – List View of All Repeaters B.1. List is the landing page of NMS Infinity, where you see all repeaters an user can see within his responsible zone on NMS Infinity. There are three main sections in the list view. See the sub sections of for details.

RCU Mobile No – this shows the number of the SIM inside the particular repeater. Sync State – this shows if the repeater has successfully synched up with NMS Infinity. For a repeater working properly, the repeater should have a blue double linked chain icon.
If not, please go to section A.6.1. to add the repeater type. Network Type – this field is optional and most relevant to NMS Infinity with map license. For a repeater to display properly on the map, it will need to have longitude and latitude information.

Click “Send” to execute repeater synchronization with NMS Infinity. After having clicked “Send” Sync button, message box will be shown as on the figure below: Once repeater is in Sync with NMS Infinity, the red disconnect chain image will change to blue connected chain.
Graph – this breaks down the active alarms by repeater types so the user can see how many alarms per repeater type. Undo ACK – this button undo the acknowledgement button. OMC Alarm B.5. This section is only applicable for systems that has repeaters purchased from Coiler before 2010 and are still active in the repeater management system. Since earlier repeaters did not follow a unified communication protocol, these alarms need to be treated in a different list.
