10. Operation

The switch of the CX2500 is located on the side of the motor as shown in
Fig 10.1.
To turn the chip extractor on, push the red emergency stop switch upwards
and open the yellow switch cover. Press the green button marked 'I', Fig
10.2.
To stop the machine, press the red button marked 'O' on the switch, Fig
10.2.
Alternatively, press the red emergency stop button.
Always ensure the hose is connected securely to the dust producing
machine.
After the dust producing machine is turned off leave the chip extractor
running until all waste has been collected.
Restarting
In the Event of a Blockage
If a blockage in the collection hose of the machine occurs, switch it off
immediately by pressing the stop button (Red button marked 'O') and wait
for the machine to come to a complete stop before proceeding further.
Unplug the machine from the power source and remove the blockage from
the collection hose. To re-start the machine press the green button marked
'I' on the switch.
In the Event of a Power Failure
The machine is fitted with a no volt release (NVR) switch to protect the user
against automatic starting of the machine when power is restored after a
power failure.
In the event of a power failure, first locate and rectify the source of the
failure. If the fault is within the power circuit of the workshop, there may be
an underlying cause (circuit overload etc.) that should be investigated by a
qualified electrician, before attempting to restore the power source.
Once the power is restored, the machine can be re-started by pressing the
green button marked 'I' on the switch.
Using the Optional Filter Cartridge
The filter cartridge takes the place of the filter bag to give filtration of finer
dust. To fit the cartridge, remove the filter bag and place the cartridge over
the upper collar of the motor housing.

11. Maintenance

Collection Bag
The collection bag must be emptied when the waste is no less than 100
mm (4") from the housing collar. If the bag is torn or damaged it must be
replaced.
Filter Bag
It is advisable to shake out the filter bag periodically. Beating it by hand
is sufficient to remove loose particles and keep the machine running
efficiently. Always do this outdoors and wearing suitable PPE. If the filter
bag becomes torn or damaged it must be replaced.
Filter Cartridge
The cartridge features a handle on the outside which turns a paddle on the
inside to shake dust from it. Regularly clean the cartridge using the handle
and the dust will fall into the collection bag.
