    iMpOrTanT saFeTY insTrucTiOns This exercise equipment is designed and built for optimum safety for the home use. However, certain precautions always apply whenever you operate any exercise equipment. Be sure to read the entire manual before assembly and operation of this machine. Also, please note the following safety precautions.
  • Page 7 Assembly of the BFT1 takes professional installers about 1/2 hour to complete. If this is the first time you have assembled this type of equipment, plan on significantly more time. rofessional installers are highly recommended However, if you acquire the appropriate tools, obtain assistance, and follow the assembly steps sequentially, the process will take time, but is fairly easy.

Position all the components from the box into a clean area. NOTE : There is only one tool required to assemble the treadmill and is provided along with the hardware pack.

Connect the harness wires from Console (36) to the harness in Upright Posts (4) before assembling the console with hardware as shown in the diagram.

    seTTing up YOur TreadMill PLACEMENT IN YOUR HOME To make exercise a desirable daily activity for you, the treadmill should be placed in a comfort- able and attractive setting. This treadmill is designed to use minimal floor space and to fit nicely in your home.

    OperaTing YOur TreadMill FOLDING AND UNFOLDING THE TREADMILL Folding and unfolding of this treadmill is made easy with the assistance of a gas cylinder. After the treadmill has come to a complete stop and power is removed, simply fold up the deck. When you hear a click, the deck is locked in place.

    OperaTing YOur TreadMill SAFETY KEY AND CLIP The safety key is designed to cut the main power to the treadmill should you fall. Therefore, the safety key is designed to bring the treadmill to an immediate stop. At high speeds, it may be un- comfortable and somewhat dangerous to come to a complete stop immediately.

  • Page 17 OperaTing The cOnsOle TARGET SETTING PROGRAM (P00) You may choose to workout by setting targets by TIME, DISTANCE, or CALORIES as main goals. All target set workouts have a default speed setting of 1 mph and 0% elevation. You may adjust the speed or elevation anytime during the workout.

    OperaTing The cOnsOle PRESET PROGRAMS There are six built-in preset programs. Each program will count down in 30 minutes. Countdown time is adjustible using the <SPEED▲▼> keys. Set up the desired workout time then press <START/ STOP> to begin the workout. The TIME, DISTANCE, CALORIE and LAP window will cir- culate displaying each individual value every 5 seconds or may be chosen individually by pressing the <MODE>...

Remember to stretch and warm up before each exercise program. STRETCH Stretching prior to exercising will improve flexibility and reduce chances of exercise related injury. CLEANING Remove dust on the treadmill with a vacuum or a slightly damp cloth. Folding up the deck and cleaning the floor with a vacuum periodically will help prolong the treadmill product life.

    MainTenance DRIVE BELT TENSIONING ADJUSTMENT Sometimes, after extended use, adjustment of the drive belt may be necessary. To tighten the drive belt, turn the adjustment bolts clockwise. Note: Adjust the right screw first. The belt position can also be adjusted by realigning the front roller.

    TrOuBleshOOTing To reduce the risk of electrical shock, always unplug the treadmill from the electrical outlet before servicing. WHEN TO CALL FOR HELP This treadmill is designed with user safety as the number one priority. In the event of an electri- cal failure, the treadmill will shut off automatically to prevent user injury and to prevent damage to expensive components such as the motor.
