    9933-EMDE-ADDA Functional Description 9933-EMDE-ADDA Functional Description Figure 1-1 shows a functional block diagram of the 9933-EMDE-ADDA. The card provides de-embedding or embedding between unbalanced AES-3id and balanced analog audio discrete audio interfaces and SMPTE embedded audio using full 24-bit conversion. In addition to individual per-pair embedding or de-embedding, the card can be used to provide cross-conversions between AES and analog discrete audio.

    Installing the 9933-EMDE-ADDA Into a Frame Slot Installing the 9933-EMDE-ADDA Into a Frame Slot CAUTION Heat and power distribution requirements within a frame may dictate specific slot placement of cards. Cards with many heat-producing components should be arranged to avoid areas of excess heat build-up, particularly in frames using only convection cooling.

    Verify that the card is fully engaged in rear I/O module mating connector. Close the frame front access panel. Connect the input and output cables as shown in 9933-EMDE-ADDA Rear I/O Modules (p. 2-5). Repeat steps 1 through 8 for other cards.
