    Media device Connect the power cable to the back of the drive. The connectors are keyed and can be inserted in only one way. Lower the drive cage by pushing it slightly to the front of the system, pressing the release tab A, and lowering the cage into the system as shown in the following figure.

Then unplug the IDE or SCSI cable from the system board. Note: If you are replacing the media device with the same type of cable (IDE or SCSI) then you do not need to remove the cable from the system board.
  • Page 30 Media device Slide the drive into the device bay until it snaps in place. Note: If you are installing a 3.5-in. media device in the bay, you must attach the 5.25-in. conversion kit, which you can order from an authorized dealer. Connect the power cable and one end of IDE or SCSI cable into the back of the media device, and make sure that the other end of this cable is connected into the applicable IDE or SCSI connector on the system board.

If you are servicing a rack-mounted system unit, the control panel will remain in the media-device enclosure while it is being removed.
