1 Applications
This intelligent quick charging station is used
for charging the batteries of the units TXA-
800HSE (pocket transmitter) and TXA-800R
(pocket receiver). The batteries of up to two
units may be charged at the same time.
The charging station features a most con-
venient handling: To charge the batteries, they
do not need to be removed from the trans -
mitter or receiver; the unit is inserted into the
charging compartment together with its bat -
teries. The design of the charging compart-
ments will ensure correct insertion of the units,
thus preventing inadvertent reverse polarity.

2 Safety Notes

The units (charging station and plug-in power
supply unit) correspond to all required direc -
tives of the EU and are therefore marked with
.
Please observe the following items in any
case:
G
Only use this charging station for recharge-
able NiCd or NiMH batteries. If non-re -
chargeable batteries are charged, this may
result in leakage or even explosion!
G
Only insert rechargeable batteries of the
same type into the transmitter or the re ceiv -
er and always replace the batteries in pairs.
G
The units are suitable for indoor use only.
Protect them against dripping water and
splash water, high air humidity, and heat
(admissible ambient temperature range
0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not operate the charging station or im-
mediately disconnect the power supply unit
from the mains socket
6
WARNING: The plug-in power
supply unit uses dangerous
mains voltage (230 V~). Leave
servicing to skilled personnel
only. Inexpert handling may re-
sult in electric shock.
1. if the charging station or the power sup-
ply unit is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the
unit was dropped or suffered a similar
accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the charging station or the
power supply unit must be repaired by
skilled personnel.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth;
never use chemicals or water.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no
liability for any resulting personal damage
or material damage will be accepted if the
charging station or the power supply unit is
used for other purposes than originally in-
tended, if it is not correctly connected or
operated, or not repaired in an expert way.
If the units are to be put out of oper -
ation definitively, take them to a local
recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment.
Defective rechargeable batteries do not
belong in the household rubbish; always
take them to a special waste disposal (e. g.
collection container at your retailer).

3 Operation

1) Connect the power supply unit provided to
the jack DC IN, located on the side of the
charging station, and to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz). Thus, the charging station
is switched on.
2) After switching on, the charging station will
perform a short self-test: at each charging
compartment, the LEDs OK and ON will
shortly light up in succession. After com-
pletion of the self-test, the LEDs ON will
shortly light up once again: the charging
station is now ready for operation.
3) Insert the units (TXA-800HSE or TXA-
800R) with their batteries into the charging
compartments.
