Exploded Diagram Explanation

1. a mouthpiece (stem)
2. a protective cover
3. a high-density stainless-steel ball
4. a circular cone

Intended Purpose

For use in the removal of excessive secretions from the lungs.

Intended User

For patients with cystic fibrosis, bronchitis and bronchiectasis, age 3+.

Contraindications

Flutter should not be used by patients with the following conditions:
• Pneumothorax
• Right-sided Heart Failure
• Severe Tuberculosis
• Haemoptysis (coughing-up blood)
Consult your health care professional before use.

How Flutter works

When breathing out through the Flutter, the motion will cause the steel ball to
bounce under the protective cover. The vibrations will loosen mucus sticking
to your airways and begin to exit the lungs.

Cautions

• Not suitable for multi-patient use; due to risk of infection.
• Contains small parts. The Flutter is not a toy.
• If you have been taught a specific technique already, then continue to
use it, as it will have been chosen as the best method for you.
• Regularly check that your technique is correct with your healthcare
professional or by re-reading these instructions.
• Any serious incident in relation to this device must be reported to the
manufacturer and the Competent Authority of the country where the
event occurred.
