The following is a summary of the chapter contents: J Chapter 1, Monitor Setup, provides an overview of the RMX-1U15L and RMX-9U15L monitor features, system requirements, and instructions for mounting and connecting the monitors.

    Effective April 1, 1998, all products carry a 2-year limited warranty. Within 2 years of purchase, Kontron will repair or replace, at our option, any defective product. Kontron will service the warranty for all standard catalog products for the first two years from the date of shipment.

    Overview ä ä ä ä The RMX-1U15L monitor is a 1U, rack mount, flip-up monitor that takes up only 1.75-inch of rack space. The RMX-1U15L monitor comes equipped with slide rails that fit cabinets from 18 to 36inches in depth . The RMX-9U15L monitor is a 9U, rack mount monitor that takes up 15.75-inch of rack space and has a depth of only two (2) inches, leaving ample amount of space to mount products behind it.

Front View – RMX-9U15L(/RT) Monitor The RMX-1U15L and RMX-9U15L monitors provide a single-point access to control multiple server networks and provide superior picture quality and state-of-the-art features mounted in an industrial grade, rack mount chassis.
  • Page 29 The RMX-1U15L and RMX-9U15L monitors employ the latest in active matrix thin film transistor (TFT) technology, providing crisp screen images and wide viewing angles. Unlike CRT monitors, LCD monitors are inherently immune to the magnetic fields commonly found on the plant floor or communications centers.

    System Requirements ä ä ä ä The RMX-1U15L and RMX-9U15L monitors require a personal computer (PC) or Power Mac™. The requirements for your PC or Macintosh computer are as follows: J VGA, SVGA, or Multisync video card and video driver already installed for the monitor.

    RMX-1U15L Rack Mounting ä ä ä ä To mount an RMX-1U15L(/RT) in a rack, follow these steps: 1) Obtain a Phillips and a flat head screwdriver. 2) Determine the mounting location. Then mark the rack mounting holes both in front and back ofthe rack.

    Installing the Video Card and Video Driver ä ä ä ä Before connecting the RMX-1U15L and RMX-9U15L, make sure your computer has a video card already installed for the monitor. After you connect the monitor, install the video software driver. The video driver is supplied by the video card manufacturer and may be found on the CD-ROM that came with your computer.
