Vertical Frequency: 50 or 60 The TranScanner 2 is a variable line multiplier designed for use with projectors that have a scanning frequency between 31.5kHz to 64kHz. The TranScanner 2 cannot be used with a conventional television receiver or projector.
1. SWITCHED +12VDC OUTPUTS The TranScanner 2 has two switched +12 VDC outlets labeled as RY1 and RY2. These outlets may be used to trigger a relay in an electric screen, projector lift or some other relay activated device. See “Relay Setup” menu for more details.

RS-232 COMPUTER INPUT The RS-232C serial interface is provided for external control of the TranScanner 2 from a central controller, such as a Home Theater control computer, Smart Home automation system, etc. For DB9 connector pin-out and RS232 command list please refer to “TranScanner 2 RS232 Control” section.
1. Press “POWER” button to turn the TranScanner 2 ON or OFF. commands please refer to “IR Setup” menu. 2. Press “MENU” to display the Main menu, or to toggle between submenus and the main menu. 3. NUMBERED Buttons – are used for direct access to inputs.
POWER The front panel controls on the TranScanner 2 include a “MENU” button; "up \ and down ]" “FUNCTION” buttons; left ` and right a “VALUE” buttons; a “POWER” button and an indicator light which is illuminated when the unit is turned on.
Input source selections can be made at any time (even without an on screen menu) by pressing numbers 1 through 9 on the remote control. The composite video inputs are 1 and 2, S- Video inputs are 3 and 4, component video inputs are 5, 6 and 7, the RGB inputs are 8 and 9.
Display Setup The Display Setup menu is where you configure the TranScanner 2 for use with your specific display system. Since the TranScanner 2 is a Variable Line Multiplier, not a traditional line doubler or quadrupler, it is necessary to Default...
2. When you have entered the screen type information, press the down ] button to move to the next line, where Display Lines will be highlighted. This is where a key piece of information is entered that determines the line multiplication used by the TranScanner 2.
At the 2.35 Aspect Ratio menu you have the ability to enable or disable the 2.35 aspect ratio settings for TranScanner 2’s output. When this line is highlighted, you may select “ON” or “OFF” to enable or disable the 2.35 Aspect Ratio.
Relay Setup Relay Setup allows the user to assign the TranScanner 2’s RY1 and RY2 screen trigger outputs to particular aspect ratio for screen masking. Relay 1 Relay 2 Relay is off. Power - Relay is on when the unit is on.
Based on the source material that is playing, the user can select one of five aspect ratios from the TranScanner 2’s “Aspect Ratio” menu. The projector will then automatically sense the scan rate of the signal coming from the TranScanner 2, and switch the projector to its first configured “Source” memory based on that same scan frequency.
TranScanner 2 RS232 Control The RS232 interface for the TranScanner 2 can be operated from any terminal, such as a Windows 95 PC running HyperTerminal.
